Join us for an evening of book talks, food, and drinks. Before the presentation, enjoy The Lone Buffalo's delicious food, served family style. Dinner includes salad, 2 entrees, and dessert. Non-alcoholic drinks included. Cash bar will be available.
After dinner, Noor Shammas and Jason Biggs will be presenting new and notable books for K-8 readers and writers. Clock hours available.
Noor Shammas
Noor Shammas is a teacher in Oswego, IL where she has taught fourth grade for ten years. When she is not working with her students, she teaches graduate students at Judson University. She has earned a master's degree in instructional technology from Lewis University in 2009 and a second master's degree in literacy from Judson University in 2013. She co-created a school-wide, in-depth author study program in her school, and she has presented at local, state, and national conferences. Noor enjoys spending time reading so that she can share what she loves with students and colleagues.
Jason Biggs
Jason Biggs is a fifth grade teacher in Hoffman Estates; he recently made the transition from fourth grade where he taught for three years. He has a Master's Degree in Literacy from Judson University and has a passion for reading that he imparts to his students each day. He has presented at both state and local conferences about a variety of topics related to literacy.
